Is Human Rights fading?

The 2014 Human rights day celebrations coincided with the release of the Nkandla report by the Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.
She might be soft-spoken, but she hit hard. The ANC is more defensive about the Nkandla report…  21st March was declared Human rights day after the democratic government took over in 1994, when Nelson Mandela condemned the 1960 Sharpeville massacre which seen 69 people killed and 189 wounded during the protests against the pass laws. Mandela said never again.
However, the Marikana massacre happened, two decades later. Today in our democracy, service delivery protests see many people injured and fatalities by the police…It is dehumanizing for government officials to misuse tax-payers money in places where there are poor or no service deliveries.
The answer is to practice “Ubuntu”; good governance in the provision of service
delivery.  Human rights is associated with peace, justice and freedom
