The department’s overall function is to: Organize workers into the union, service workers by representing them on any matter that they may have as individuals or collective to their employer, take grievances and dispute that they may have against the employers, educate workers about the importance of unity at the point of production, litigate on their behalf and assist workers on all social problems they may have at home and within the society at large. Carry on campaigns to improve the conditions of employment of workers, campaign to force the state and employers to provide services to the working class in general.

Negotiate with the state and employers to provide just a Decent work for the general workers within the union and the working class in general including making sure that the International Labour Organization provisions are implemented, make sure that the Health & Safety of workers is protected and to delivers a fair income, security in the workplace and social protection for their families, make sure that there is better prospects for personnel development and social integration , to help workers organize and participate in the decisions that affect their lives and promote equal opportunity for all women and men at the work place and society.
