NUMSA KICK-STARTS WITH ITS NELSON MANDELA DAY ACTIVITIES

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) has kick-started with its Nelson Mandela Day activities as from yesterday Monday 16 July 2012.

Already NUMSA’s birthday message to our icon and chief architect of our democracy comrade President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela is being beamed live through electronic billboards in all major cities or towns across the country.

The Birthday Message can be viewed in the following areas: Gauteng: Braamfontein, Smith Street (Opp. M1 N & S off Ramps); East Rand Mall, Cnr Great North & Rietfontein Road; M1 North, 11th Avenue Houghton Flyover; M1 South, 11th Avenue Houghton Flyover; Randburg, Cnr Jan Smuts Ave & Republic Road; Tembisa, Cnr Rev George & Nyanga Drive; North-West: Rustenburg, Cnr R24 and Nelson Mandela Road; Mpumalanga: Nelspruit, Brown Street, Bus Terminal; KwaZulu-Natal: Durban, Nicol Square, Commercial and Pine Streets; Pietermaritzburg, Selby Msimang Road, Edendale; Eastern Cape: East London, More Street, off Beach Front; Northern Cape: Kimberly, Cnr Jones Street, and N 1 to Cape Town.

On Wednesday 18 July 2012, NUMSA Deputy President CHRISTINE OLIVIER and COSATU Deputy President ZINGISWA LOSI, accompanied by the Regional leadership of both the ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) and SA Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) will be dispensing sanitary towels or pads to the 345 vulnerable and poor girl learners at Tyongwana Senior Primary School, Tafufu Village, Port St John’s, Eastern Cape province.
