The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) held a special National Executive Committee (NEC) today, Sunday 27 July 2014, in central Johannesburg.
The NEC meeting was attended by Numsa’s National Office Bearers (NOBs’), worker leaders from all our Regions and members of the National Bargaining Team.
The special NEC has agreed to consult members on its deliberations in relation to the ongoing strike. We call on all our striking members to join picketing lines tomorrow morning Monday 28 July 2014, to receive the deliberations of the NEC.
A Media Briefing will be held tomorrow, Monday 28 July 2014, at 16h00pm, Numsa Head Office, Newtown. The Media Briefing will be used to publicly communicate the union’s final decision.
