The 11th National Congress of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) took a decisive resolution for all affiliates to give their political and mass support to the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) in the ongoing class struggles for a Living Wage as fought by Mineworkers.

Members of NUMSA will be holding a protest march TOMORROW Saturday 27 October 2012, starting at 10h00am, at the Library (next to Luthuli House, 54 Sauer Street, Johannesburg).

Workers will converge at the Library, and from there march to the offices of the Department of Labour in Braamfontein to hand-over a Memorandum of Demands exerting pressure on the ANC-led government to move with speed, to ban labour brokers, and from there workers will proceed to the Chamber of Mines to hand-over a Memorandum of Demands to the Mining bosses demanding a Living Wage for mineworkers, and then immediately after workers will march to the offices of the Premier of Gauteng to hand-over a Memorandum of Demands to the ANC-led government to scrap the commodification of Gauteng Highways through E-Tolls and stop the mooted implementation of the Youth Wage Subsidy as proposed by the

National Treasury in cahoots with apartheid apologists Democratic Alliance.

The march will be led by the following leaders of the working class formations;

• BUTI MANAMELA – YCL National Secretary

• THABO KUPA – ANCYL NEC Member

• LAZARUS LEDWABA – SASCO NEC Member
