Members of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) will be picketing and demonstrating outside Mpcat Plastics in Wadeville on Thursday. This is to highlight the National Plastics strike which is taking place all over the country. Mpact is a Plastics company which, together with other employers in the sector are trying to impose working conditions which will take away the benefits and wages which our members have fought hard for in the Engineering industry. The employers in the plastics sector are trying to:

• Reduce the minimum wages of workers by half – Grade H workers will receive R20 per hour instead of R40 per hour.
• They will no longer receive a bonus.
• They will be forced to work 45 hour week and will not be paid overtime.

Join us as we raise our voices to demand our rights!
