The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) will be at the Springs magistrates court in Ekurhuleni to support the family of Thembisile Yende. Yende, an Eskom employee was murdered in May this year allegedly because she blew the whistle on a copper cable theft syndicate at Eskom.
Her body was found locked in an office at the Pieterboth substation in Springs, after she had been reported missing or more than a week. David Ngwenya, an Eskom technician will be appearing at the Springs Magistrates Court today. He is accused of having injected Yende before beating her with a crowbar and suffocating her.
Yende’s murder has caused her family a lot of pain and suffering. Her young son faces an uncertain future without his mother. We hope the justice system will not fail the family and that it will ensure that all those who may be responsible for her death are prosecuted.
Aluta continua!
The Struggle continues!
