NUMSA General Secretary Cde Irvin Jim to address members of the media on planned actions to defend job in the steel sector

In the midst of the looming jobs bloodbath loss in the strategic sector of our country’s economy, the steel and engineering, where a potential of 80 000 jobs could be lost; Numsa is convening a consultative meeting with various organisations and trade unions to mobilise ground-swell support for National Day of Action.
The consultative meeting will be taking place tomorrow Tuesday 06 October 2015, at Vincent Mabuyakhulu Conference Centre, Newtown, Johannesburg, Gauteng province.
The key focus of the meeting will be to develop a clear and detailed Programme of Action (PoA) to be undertaken by Numsa working together with all the organisations. The meeting will also discuss in detail the socio-economic strike that will be happening next-week Wednesday 14 October 2015.
The outcomes of the meeting will be communicated by Numsa’s General Secretary cde Irvin Jim, as indicated below;
