The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa); other energy unions such as Solidarity, United Association of South Africa (UASA), the Independent Municipal and Allied Trade Union (Imatu); and a range of community organisations inside and outside the umbrella of the United Front such as the Soweto Electricity Crisis Committee (SECC), Lesedi Community Forum and Orlando West Concerned Residents will hold a press conference on Sunday 31 May 2015, at12H00 midday, to announce a nationwide conference that the organisations are convening next from Tuesday 02 June 2015- until – Friday 05 June 2015.
The objective of next week’s electricity crisis conference is to explore measures and to develop proposals that broader civil society can put forward and implement as immediate and medium-term interventions to mitigate the electricity crisis that face our country.
The Press Conference on Sunday 31 May 2015 will be addressed by the following leaders:

- Zodwa Madiba – Soweto Electricity Crisis Committee (SECC)
