Cosatu’s Gauteng affiliated unions, namely South African Catering Commercial and Allied Workers Union (Saccawu); Food and Allied Workers Union (Fawu); Democratic Nursing Union (Denosa); Communications Workers Union (CWU) South African State and Allied Workers Union (Sasawu) SA Football Players Union (Safpu); Public and Allied Workers Union (Pawusa); South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) and National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa), will hold a Media Briefing this coming Thursday 26 February 2015, at Numsa Head Office, 153 Bree (Cnr Gerard Sekoto) Streets, Newtown, Johannesburg, Gauteng province.
The Media Briefing will be addressed by the Provincial Office Bearers (POBs’) of the above-mentioned unions. The main thrust of the Media Briefing will be to publicly communicate decisions taken at the joint sitting of these Affiliates, in relation to (1) the illegal expulsion of Numsa from Cosatu; (2) Cosatu’s Special National Congress; AND (3) planned protest action by workers to Cosatu House on Friday 27 February 2015.
