The Numsa National Executive Committee (NEC) convened a special meeting on Thursday 3rd October 2013 to receive updated reports on the status of wage negotiations with the Retail Motor Industry and component manufacturers.

The NEC resolved that;
1. The employer's offer of 10%, 9%, 9% for 2013, 2014 and 2015 in the component manufacturing sector is to be accepted.

2. The employer's offer of 9%, 8%, 8% for 2013, 2014 and 2015 in all other sectors must be accepted.

3. The following forms part of the industry settlement;

a. New Engineering industry wage rates: For the period 1 JULY 2013 to
