MPHUZI MAQUNGO, National Treasurer of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) will be addressing the 4 000 striking workers at Evraz Highveld Steel and Vanadium Limited, tomorrow Tuesday 24 July 2012, Evraz Highveld Steel & Vanadium, Portion 93 Farm, Shoonghesizicht, 308 JF, eMalahleni (previously Witbank), Mpumalanga province.
The Evraz Highveld Steel and Vanadium Limited workers have been on protected strike since July 16, 2012, as a result of the company’s intentions to retrench thousands of workers.
NUMSA remains opposed to these retrenchments.
