NUMSA removes Enver Motala from its Panel of Liquidators

13 September 2011

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) has noted with concern the Sunday Times report dated Sunday 11 September 201, wherein Mr. Enver Motala is said to have been removed as a Liquidator by the Pretoria Registrar for questionable and unethical behaviour in his profession as Liquidator.

Mr. Motala currently serves on the Numsa National Panel of Liquidators. In view of the serious allegations leveled at Mr. Motala, Numsa’s national leadership took a conscious decision to remove Mr. Motala from its Panel of Liquidators so that the interests of our members are not compromised.

Numsa shall cooperate with the authorities should the need arise for us to make available information that may assist in the relevant investigations.

Workers who are brutalized by foreclosures or liquidations can never be subjected to unscrupulous individuals for self enrichment when unemployment, poverty and inequality stares them in the face.
