DO IT FOR JUNE 16 MARTYRS: INVITATION TO THE NUMSA MOCK DEMONSTRATION ON LEARNER PREGNANCY

The NATIONAL UNION OF METALWORKERS UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA (Numsa) will be having a LEARNER PREGNANCY MOCK DEMONSTRATION outside its Head Office, Wednesday 15 June 2011, 153 Cnr Bree and Gerard Sekota Streets, Newtown, Johannesburg, Gauteng province.
The Learner Pregnancy mock demonstration forms part of NUMSA’s celebration of June 16 by highlighting the crisis of learner pregnancy in mainly working class schools as triggered by the failures of our education system to deal with total development of pupils and curriculum content that is detached from concrete realities by not responding to societal challenges of today.
ZINGISWA LOSI, a NUMSA Shopsteward and COSATU Deputy President will be part of the mock demonstration wearing her old school uniform. She will address the mock demonstration by articulating key issues that need to be resolved by government, parents, learners and educators as part of fixing a variety of challenges within our schooling system for the good of an African child.
