NUMSA National Treasurer Mphumzi Maqungo to lead Auto workers March Pretoria, gauteng Province

MPHUMZI MAQUNGO, National Treasurer of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) will be leading a march of 11 000 workers, cheaply-exploited and underpaid in the Automobile sector in Pretoria, Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng province, to hand-over a Memorandum of Demands to the Automobile Manufacturers Employer’s Organisation (AMEO).

The workers will converge at Old PUTCO depot (Potgieter Street) and march militantly to the NAAMSA Offices (Cnr Stanza Bopape and Steve Biko Streets, Pretoria) to hand-over a Memorandum of Demands.

The march forms part of our organisational strategy and a tactical tool to force the golden boys and girls of class exploitation in the Auto sector to concede to workers’ demands.

The details are as follows:

DATE: Tuesday September 03, 2013
TIME: 9H00am
VENUE: Old Putco depot, Potgieter Street, Pretoria, Gauteng province

Members of the media are hereby invited to attend and report.
