Majority of motor workers earning above the minimum rates set by the industry

Motor employers are firm that they are only offering a 7% increase on the minimum rates of pay.

However, Numsa's research unit has analysed information received from the motor industries bargaining council (Mibco).

This shows that the majority of motor industry workers are paid wages that are above the minimums. This means that if Numsa were to accept a 7% increase on minimums, the majority of motor workers would receive an increase less than 7% and would see themselves being poorer than last year.
