NUMSA MEMBERS TO HOLD A PUBLIC DEMOSTRATION OUTSIDE THE OFFICES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOUR!

Members of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) under the banner of the NUMSA Youth Forum will hold a public demonstration outside the offices of the Department of Labour this coming Friday 6 July 2012, 3 Hill Street, East London, Buffalo City Metropolitan, Eastern Cape province.

The purpose of the public demonstration forms part of our organisational strategy to exert pressure on the ANC-led government to ban labour brokers and to abandon the mooted Youth Wage Subsidy as propagated by both the National Treasury and mouthpiece of white monopoly capital, the Democratic Alliance (DA).

The public demonstration will be attended by approximately 3000 activists drawn from the structures of NUMSA and the Progressive Youth Alliance.

A Memorandum of Demands will be handed-over directed to the Ministers of Labour and Finance, respectively.

The public demonstration will be addressed by NUMSA Regional Secretary Cde PHUMZILE NODONGWE, YCL Provincial Secretary MLULEKI DLANGANA, SASCO Provincial Secretary THEMBANI MAKAPA and ANCYL representative.
