Red Red Numsa – an exhibition celebrating Numsa's 25 years
In celebration of 25 years of Numsa's existence, Numsa has put together an exhibition of 31 lightboxes that detail its rich history and militant struggles. The exhibition combines text, poetry, photographs and posters to give a visual picture of how Numsa has grown and the challenges that is has faced along the way.
It particularly recognises the nameless Numsa members who have made and continue to make Numsa into the powerful union that it is.
The exhibition is guaranteed to bring back memories for those involved in the mass democratic movement from the 1970s and will help learners and students understand the diversity of issues that trade unions like Numsa are involved in.
The exhibition is on show at Kwa Muhle Museum, 130 Bram Fischer Road, Durban from June 2 2012 until September 2012. The exhibition runs alongside an exhibition honouring Josiah Gumede, a former ANC president. (Entrance is free)
