Numsa News scoops two Media Awards

Workers World Media Productions (WWMP) initiated the Labour Media Awards designed to recognise media that has highlighted labour issues in South Africa.

This year’s awards went ahead in spectacular style at Birchwood Hotel on the 15th April 2010.

It was on this occasion where NUMSA News scooped an award for The Best Trade Union Newspaper and The Best Article in the Trade Union Media.

The best Article, which Numsa won, was written by three Numsa shopstewards, Zingizwa Losi, Doris Nqetho and Pinky Ramokoka who were present to receive the award.

The article was on “challenges of being a woman shopsteward” which was published on NUMSA News issue no.2, May 2009.
Numsa is honoured by this triumph.

NUMSA News won The Best Trade Union Award on the 15th of May 2009 and we hope not to break the cycle of winning. The awards are being placed at Numsa Head Office and everyone is welcome to see them.
