NUMSA HOLDS ITS NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) will be holding its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting this week Monday 30 May 2011-until- Wednesday 01 June 2011, Vincent Mabuyakhulu Conference Centre, Newtown, Johannesburg, Gauteng province.
The NEC will receive the political, organisational and financial reports from the elected National Office Bearers. It is expected that the meeting will discuss in detail the performance of the ANC-led Alliance in the recently held 2011 Local Government Elections, NUMSA’s approach to the forthcoming COSATU Central Committee scheduled for June 27-30, Gallagher Estate, NUMSA’s stance on Government’s Beneficiation Strategy, Our position on the recently appointed Director – General of the Department of Labour, take stock on the ongoing wage disputes at ESKOM and engineering sector and other pertinent issues of consolidating working class power and hegemony in South Africa and the Continent.
