Dear Numsa NewsI recently attended a workshop of the Union over a period of two days. After I completed the two day worskhop I was left with a lot of knowledge which I gained from that workshop.

I hope the other comrades that were with me attending the classes were also learning and took with both hands what was given to us.

Usually capital likes to take chances with new shop stewards, but the tools that were given to us will surely let capitalists take a step back.

With facts and law they don't stand a chance against us. But it's no use if we as shop steward committees are not united with our members. It will only be the unity that holds this Union together and keeps it alive.

Numsa keep up the good work! It also gives us the courage to stand tall and protect our members from capital.Lucien Windwaai, shop steward at Bell-Essex Engineering, Port Elizabeth

Dear Numsa NewsThe metalworkers are fortunate to have someone as great as you are. One day I was wondering where to get the history of Che Guevara.

Miraculously I found it in my Numsa News. (in the general secretary's editorial) Thanks a million to Numsa. Now I am asking for the history of the liberation of Nicaragua.

I understand that we are following in the footsteps in connection with the Scorpions, to take care of corruption, especially on government officials and MPs.
My view is that they should be disbanded and be incorporated into the SAPS. I also think that there is a 3rd force to make sure that progress will not prevail in our movement.

The Head of the Scorpions is part of that. One will not disagree with me when looking at the way they are dealing with Zuma's case and some government officials' cases.

They've targeted ANC members and Parliamentarians. I'm not saying that they are innocent but the way things are done is questionable. Now they're busy with the black judges to discredit them and black leadership as a whole.

Perhaps the merging of selected members from the Scorpions, Organised Crime Unit and the Commercial Branch Unit of the SAPS as the proposed Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) might work.

We cannot dissolve the Scorpions and let corruption and organised crime escalate. We have to be careful and look at both sides of the coin.

Whites want to make sure that blacks are failing and that's what is happening in our companies and the world as a whole. Quo vadis?John Mpharam Chiloane, Scaw Metals, Johannesburg Central Local

(Thanks for your letter comrade. We will fax some background information on Nicaragua to your local. Editor)
