In the wake of the May Day bus accident that claimed 51 lives, Numsa regions and locals were putting in place memorial services to be held in all Numsa workplaces across the country to mourn the dead. Numsa general secretary, Silumko Nondwangu, has also called on all Numsa members to show their solidarity by donating R1 to the families of the deceased. Numsa staff members have been asked to donate R20 each. Members should hand their R1 to their shop steward. Shop stewards should hand in the money to the nearest Numsa office so they can forward it to Numsa head office. Or members can deposit directly into a special Numsa account:
